A Poem About Friends

By Marlin Lebron

Friendship is a priceless gift,

It can not be bought or betrayed

Than a mountain made of gold

For gold is lifeless

It can neither see nor hear

And in the time of trouble

It is powerless to cheer

It has no ears to listen

Nor heart to understand

It cannot bring you comfort

Or reach out a helping hand

So be thankful for your friends

And always know that your friends

Will be there in return

Science Corner: Magnets

By Angela Lopez

Magnets are so helpful. They can help you to sort out steal and plastic from a big pile. You can also use a magnet to stick to the kitchen refrigerator, a toaster, and a stove. Did you know that south and north connect, but south and south or north and north do not connect?

Girl's Basketball Game!

By Jazmely Pinales

On January 23, 2017 there was a girls basketball game vs. Callahan at Cobbet Elementary School. Cobbet won the game. The final score was 8-6. Cobbet won because of this girl named Diana. She scored 2 or more baskets. We were not playing our best and neither was the other team. A girl named Arizona scored 3 baskets, but one was not counted because they blew the whistle and then the ball went into the hoop. I am happy that we won! GO COUGARS!

Secret Santa Family Traditions

By Diane Lopez

Hello my name is Diane and I am back again with another article and this time I am talking about the traditional things that we do in my family. So Christmas is coming and every Thanksgiving we give out little papers and write all of the family names. Then we pass it around and the person whose name you get for Christmas, you have to get them a present. On Christmas we have to say who my Secret Santa is and you say the person that you have and then they have to open the present that you got them. I am really excited because it is the best holiday because we get presents. When we get the little papers telling who your Secret Santa is you cannot show anybody because then it will ruin the surprise for the other people. What I really want is a camera or some shoes!
