Annual Easter Egg Hunt!

By Gabriela Martinez

On Sunday April 1st, I will have an Easter egg Hunt. My cousins, family and friends will be there to attend. I didn't mention this but this year the Easter egg Hunt is huge, which means a lot of decorating and a bunch of candies and eggs. Last year the Easter egg hunt was about 350 Easter eggs! There are 5 golden eggs hidden. The best part is whoever finds a golden egg, there will be a special surprise in the egg and will get a giant sour egg.

Little surprise: 1 in 10 eggs have $2

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever

By Ana Niz

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever is the best book because it tells about the main character's life. I recommend this book because Greg Heffley got in big trouble because he damages school property. Greg is the main suspect for the damage, but the crazy thing is that he is innocent even though he is the main suspect. They eventually found out that it was another person. At the end of the story Greg and his family celebrated Christmas together. Have you ever gotten in trouble at school when it wasn't your fault? What did you do to solve your problem?

I give this book five stars!

Fifth Grade Field Trips!

By Ana Niz

The fifth graders have a lot to do during the last few weeks of school. The fifth graders go on field trips to Lynn Woods, a Red Sox game, and the track and field event. The track and field event is a fifth grade tradition. Last year Cobbet girls won it and in 2016 the Cobbet boys won it. So now we want to keep up Cobbet's winning tradition. The fifth graders are trying their hardest to keep it going. Fifth graders will go to Lynn Woods on May 22nd. We will hike and at the end we have a little picnic that is going to be so fun! Now the baseball game is going to be even more fun because my cousin went on that trip last year and she said it was fun. I can't wait to wear our new Cobbet shirts with all of the fifth grader student's names on them that says 'Class of 2018'. We will get our shirts on Monday May 21st. This is so exciting because when you leave the school you will always remember everyone you used to go to elementary school with and also we get our yearbooks too. It is so funny because there will be a baby picture for the fifth grade students. Also the fifth grade has to practice for their graduation, they will practice as long as they need to to make it right. Graduation is going to be fun because everyone will be in their suits and dresses and they will get year books and they will sign them. Fifth grade end of the year is going to be so much fun!

Cooking Club Information

By Ashley Lopez

When I go to cooking club the first thing we do is wash our hands. Then we get the ingredients and materials we will need and take turns getting everything ready. When we finish making dirty dishes we work together to wash them. After we clean up we put the food in the oven or the freezer (depending on what we are cooking). Finally we wrap up whatever we cooked so we can take it home with us and eat it. Some of the things we have made so far are chocolate covered strawberries, english muffin pizzas, and waffles.

Sound Waves

By Ana Niz

There are three different kinds of sound waves; light waves, mechanical waves, and sound waves. Light waves are when they show a picture of the sound wave so we know how loud they are so if it is high it is loud and if it is low it is soft. Mechanical waves is like the ocean waves, it moves but if you put a turbulent wave it makes electricity so it helps us. All of these waves move and that is why they are called waves. When you see them they go up and down like waves do.

Sound waves are sounds that we hear but there are devices that let us see how they look. The waves exist when you even talk. For example if you talk in one direction it just does not go straight it goes all the ways, even backwards.

Movie Review: Black Panther

By Rodeline Baptilus

To be honest I would give this movie 5 stars because it is one of the funniest, scariest, saddest. and happiest movie ever! It all started when the black panther lost trust with his brother and one brother's son wanted to find his dad's brother and seek vengeance. This movie was funny because the sister is so hilarious. She makes really good jokes. The movie was sad because the black panther lost trust with his family and kingdom so he found a way to get his country back. I hope you get to watch this movie!

1. One way you can make strawberries covered in chocolate is to first get some chocolate.

2. Put it in a bowl.

3. Microwave it or put it in the oven.

4. Then wait for about 1 minute.

5. Take the bowl out and put strawberries in the chocolate.

6. After that, put them in the freezer.

*If you want you can add sprinkles on them.

Lynn Woods Field Trip

By Jiannie Rivera

The fifth grade is going on a field trip. They are going to Lynn Woods. They are all excited to go on the trip. Make sure that if you ever go to Lynn Woods you wear bug spray because in spring the insects come. We are also going to have a little picnic. We are going to take lots of picture to show our family members. I hope you get a chance to explore Lynn Woods sometime!
