Holiday Sing

Cobbet's annual Holiday Sing was held on Thursday, December 17th at 1:00pm.  Families, students, and teachers gathered together to share holiday cheer with one another. Miss Paige's music students in grades K-5 participated in singing holiday themed songs. Mr. Taylor's band and string students also performed several of their own selections. It was a joyous event for all who attended! We would like to thank Miss Paige and Mr. Taylor for all of their hard work to put this concert together.

Bullying is not an option...

by GUEST WRITER Jiannie Rivera

Bullying is not an advantage. You should not bully people because that is abusing and hurting others. I once got bullied but it is over now. If you are bullying you should stop now if not they will bully you. You don't want to be bullied. Those are the reasons you should not bully others.

Cobbet Cougars Girls Basketball

The Cobbet Cougars girls basketball team had an incredible game on Thursday, January 21st after school. They beat out the Drewicz Dolphins with a final score of 16-6. The newspaper team was incredibly impressed with both the basketball and cheerleading skills that we saw at the game. The girls next basketball game will be on Thursday, January 28th at 2:30pm in the big gym. If you can make it, we promise you will enjoy it!

Check out this video of 5th grader Vanessa So scoring a basket for the Cougars!

Tune in to see the Cobbet Cougar Cheerleaders showing off their new cheer called ROWDY!

"Cheering....it's kind of like an outfit because it has to be big, bold, loud, and express you!" -5th grader Shonna Peal

Basketball is...

By yours truly, Shonna Peal

"Hey everybody show your spirit for the Cobbet cougars." Ya that is right the girls won on 1/21. And they put up a fight and won 16 to 6. But the boys on the other hand lost but they put a lot of effort in the game. Also let's give a shout out to the cheerleaders and them being loud and proud. And to show their support the bleachers were filled with the cougar's packs. Cheering on the cougars like pro cheerleaders. So give yourself a round of applause. So let's end this on a good note with a quote, "basketball is not only a hobby but a work of art and heart" because working together isn't always easy but our cougars and cheerleaders pull it off.

Don't Waste Water

by Blanca Flores

Do you ever think to protect the water?....here is a way to protect water. I think that they don't have to waste the water because some people may need to use the water too. I think that mostly we can protect the water by cleaning the water. And I think that some people may throw trash in the water but we need to keep our water clean. Don't leave the water of the sink on and the shower too and to keep our water safe as gold, because our water is important as gold.

Movie Review: Frozen

by Mandy Taymany

SPOILER ALERT!!!

The movie Frozen is a movie for kids and adults mostly kids. It is when two parents died in a tragic sea storm. Then Anna sings "Do You Want To Build A Snowman". Elsa is trying to be normal around people without being scared and Anna found evil guy, I mean Hans. Anna and Hans sing "Love Is An Open Door". Then Anna introduced Hans and told her about the proposal. Elsa told her she couldn't marry someone she just met. Elsa got mad and used her ice powers and then got terrified and ran away. Elsa then ran to the mountains across  friend river while Anna was chasing her and Hans was chasing Anna. So the next day Anna told Hans to watch the kingdom for her while she will find her sister. The next day they went to the mountains and found Olaf who had no nose so Anna pushed a carrot to his face and Olaf sang "Summer" then they went to Elsa's castle. Anna went inside while the rest stayed behind to convince Elsa to come back but Elsa said she can't. Anna kept trying to convince her but Elsa freaked out and hit Anna in the heart. So Kristof brought her to his adoptive family which is the family that thought they got engaged but she was like no we ain't engaged so she almost fell to the floor. Kristof caught her then that old magical troll came. So they went back to the castle then fast forward Elsa was about to be killed so she stepped in and froze so she was like why Anna why!!! Then she unfroze and Elsa reverse the snow she made and a ship was coming up. Then she saw Hans and said "Anna she froze your heart". Anna said,"The only frozen heart is you" then gave Hans a knuckle sandwich. Fast forward to the end everyone skated and lived happily ever after. The end.
